Don Mancini is an American screenwriter and film director. He is known for creating the Chucky character and its Child’s Play franchise, including the show Chucky. He wrote all seven original films in the series, the last three of which he also directed. He has also been billed as Kit Du Bois/Kit Dubois and Donald G. Mancini.

He was raised in Virginia.

Don’s paternal grandfather was George Mancini (the son of Simone “Simon” Mancini and Catherine “Katie” Rossi). George was born in Massachusetts, to Italian parents. Simone was born in Pescosansonesco, province of Pescara, Abruzzo.

Don’s paternal grandmother was Marie Albano (the daughter of Joseph Albano and Elena “Eleanor” Nastrucci). Marie was born in Massachusetts, to Italian parents.

Don’s maternal grandfather was Harold Roland Ruelle (the son of Jean Baptiste Victor Ruelle and Caroline Pelland). Harold was born in Massachusetts. Jean Baptiste was from Luxembourg, Belgium, the son of François Ruelle and Catherine DeEnfants. Caroline was born in Québec, Canada, the daughter of Alexandre Pelland and Mathilde Leblanc.

Don’s maternal grandmother was Kathleen “Kate” O’Loughlin (the daughter of John J. O’Loughlin/O’Laughlin and Mary Twomey/Toomey). Kathleen was born in Massachusetts. John was born in either Scotland or Massachusetts, to Irish parents, Michael O’Loughlin and Catherine. Mary was born in Massachusetts, also to Irish parents, Patrick Twomey/Toomey and Margaret Ahern.
