Kate Miller-Heidke is an Australian singer-songwriter and actress who won Australia’s national selection show Eurovision: Australia Decides and will therefore be representing the country at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel with her song “Zero Gravity”.
She started her career by playing in several Brisbane bands, including Elsewhere, which released a self-titled EP of original songs before breaking up. In 2002, Kate went solo, and became well known in her hometown, winning countless awards. She has since released four studio albums in Australia, achieving multi-platinum status. Her latest album O Vertigo! was also a huge success, immediately landing at number four on the Australian charts and being nominated for an ARIA award.
Kate has also appeared at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, as well as in the English National Opera and in the Sydney Opera House, performing several roles. In 2015, she broke into national television, featuring in “The Divorce”, a four-part ABC mini-series, also getting a nomination for Best Soundtrack at the 2016 ARIA Awards.

“Zero Gravity”, a pop-opera masterpiece was written by Kate herself along with her husband Keir Nuttall, following the singer’s experience with post-natal depression after the birth of her son Ernie. The song is about how she felt weightless as she recovered.
